A private baby page for grandparents and family
Grandparents want news; parents want to keep the day-to-day to themselves. The family circle is a small private page for the people you choose, with exactly what you decide to publish, and a hard line around everything else.
In short
- A private page opened by a link: no account and no app for the reader.
- Nothing appears until a parent publishes it.
- Feeds, nappies, health records, mood scores and where you live never appear. Anything else appears only in a post a parent has read and published.
- It is off until you create a link, and each link can be removed on its own.
How does the family circle work?
You make a link for a person or a group, with a label you choose, and send it by WhatsApp, as a picture card, or as a plain link. Whoever opens it types their first name once and sees the page. Each link can be removed on its own, so you can stop sharing with one person without touching the others.
What do family members see?
The posts you have published, your children’s first names and birthdays, the photos you chose, the milestones reached and, only if you switch it on, weight and length. They can leave a heart or a short comment, and read each post in their own language.
What can it never show?
Feeds and nappies. Temperatures, medicines, vaccinations and appointments. The birth plan and birth notes, your mood scores, your private diary, your address and your emergency contacts. The circle’s code never queries them, and a test in our code fails the build if it ever does. Diary notes you shared with your partner, the longest sleep and what you typed to Iris are read only if a parent turns that on, and only to draft a post that a parent reads and approves.
Who writes the posts?
Iris can draft a short family edition, a few lines for a month, a week or a moment, from what you chose to let it read. You read it, change it or throw it away. Only a parent can publish, and lines about you two rather than the baby are held back.
What it does not do
- It is not a social network: there are no followers, no feed and no emails to readers.
- It does not appear in search engines.
- It does not publish anything on its own.
Questions parents ask
Do grandparents need the app?
No. They open the link in their phone’s browser and type their first name once. No account, no download.
Can I stop sharing with one person?
Yes. Each person or group has its own link; remove that one and the others keep working.
Does it show where we live?
No. Your address, your hospital and your emergency contacts are among the things the family circle can never read.
What does it cost?
One subscription for the whole family, Iris included: £4.99 a month or £49.99 a year. The first month is free, and you can cancel at any time.
Give the grandparents their page
Start your family in Syncry, and when you are ready, make one link for the grandparents. They see what you publish, and nothing else.
